Trout Fishing (loch)

Trout Fishing (loch)

Both small hill-loch and large loch trout fishing are on offer at Eagle Brae.

Loch Monar
Guests can fish for wild brown trout on loch Monar, which is around 12 miles from end to end.
Eagle Brae offers exclusive day trips on Loch Monar using its traditional 17ft oak on mahogany clinker.
Fishermen must be accompanied by a ghillie during trips as there are numerous submerged rocks and large waves can appear during high winds.

Lochan Airidh Fhraoich
The small hill lochan, Airidh Fhraoich, is relatively unknown and lies secretly hidden in the Caledonian pinewood of Glen Strathfarrar some 900 feet above the glen floor.
Trout cannot breed in this lochan because of its lack of a spawning burn, but its habitat, complete with lilies, weedy margins, a small island and forested verges, provides the perfect conditions for wild brown trout to grow fast once introduced from the River Farrar.
