Stalking / Hunting

Stalking / Hunting

Eagle Brae offers stalking for red deer stags in September and October and red deer hinds in November, December and January.  In addition, roe deer shooting can be arranged at forestry plantations and fields on lower ground.

Eagle Brae manages its deer populations responsibly to achieve a successful working balance for forestry, conservation and deer. Only weak, old or poor animals are culled. This strategy mimics the natural predation by wolves and lynx, which are no longer found in the wild in Scotland.

Red deer stalking in the Highlands is a fantastic day out. It leads hunters to the most beautiful mountain tops rarely visited by other walkers. The stalker and guests have to tactically plan their hunt, as it’s extremely difficult to outwit the deer, with their superior sense of smell and hearing.

Guests need not be experienced hunters, but will be required to demonstrate proficiency with a rifle on a target before being allowed to shoot on the hill.
