Location and directions

Our Highland Location

Nestled between the magnificent Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar, Eagle Brae is set amongst the grandeur of some of the wildest glens, highest mountains and largest lochs in the northern Scottish Highlands. Yet despite our remote location, it’s easy to get here from across the world. We are around 20 miles west of Inverness, a well-connected city with its own international airport, bus and train stations. From Inverness, you can hire a car or arrange a convenient transfer right to our door.

By Road

The easiest approach is from the northeast via Inverness and Beauly. For some guests coming to us from the west, it is also possible to approach from Loch Ness via Drumnadrochit and Cannich. For SatNav users our post code is IV4 7LE. Google Maps has proven more accurate than SatNav systems for finding us.

We have a fairly steep driveway up to the cabins so we have designed a winter parking area at the bottom should any spells of significant snowfall prevent guests from accessing the site using their own vehicle. In such an event, an Eagle Brae all-terrain vehicle will take you and your baggage up to your log home.

Car Hire: Eagle Brae offers guests preferential rates for car hire via Focus Vehicle Rental (tel 01463 709517). Other car rental options are available in Inverness. Enterprise on Seafield Road also offer a collection and drop-off service, to and from the train station or airport. And SIXT offers a wide range of standard, luxury and 4×4 car hires.

EV Charging: We have a standard type 2 EV car charge point and a Tesla car charge point, both at reception, and both free for guest use.

Discover a Hidden Highland Location

A Haven in the Highlands

Eagle Brae is 45 minute’s drive north-west of the city of Inverness, between the spectacular Glens Affric and Strathfarrar. Several nearby munros offer the perfect challenge for energetic Eagle Brae adventurers. Three major lochs feed into the Rivers Farrar and Glass, providing excellent salmon fishing on Eagle Brae’s own private beats. And the nearby indigenous pinewood forest of Strathfarrar and the regenerating wildflower grasslands in Strathglass are the perfect places to wander in peaceful tranquillity.

Easy to get to, yet hidden away in the wilderness, Eagle Brae is just 23 miles from Inverness train station and 30 miles from Inverness Airport. For most of our guests, once they arrive they never want to leave this stunning Highland location. And with our home-cooked meals and online concierge services, they never have to. But for guests who do want to venture out and explore the surrounding Scottish Highlands location, our closest village is nearby Beauly (just 13 miles away), where there is a railway station, a number of shops, eateries and other amenities.
