COVID-19 Information

Last Updated: 15.07.2020

We are now open again!

Eagle Brae re-opened it’s doors safely on the 15th July.

Additional measures introduced in order to ensure COVID19 safe stays at Eagle Brae

In order to ensure the safest possible environment for guests and staff, Eagle Brae will be re-opening this July with the following additional measures:

  1. Reception is closed to guests. This is our only indoor communal space and it will make Eagle Brae a safer place for everyone if reception remains closed to guests for the time being. If you wish to purchase or borrow any items from reception, please contact us and we can safely deliver it to you. Reception will be manned by Eagle Brae staff as normal so we will still be here if you need us
  2. Guests are to check themselves into their cabin on arrival. Normally we like to welcome new guests personally but for now guests will let themselves into their cabin. On the day of arrival, the cabin patio doors will be unlocked shortly before your expected arrival time, and the sterilised keys will be left in an envelope on the coffee table in the sitting room.
  3. Preparing a virus free environment for our guests. In conjunction with our trade bodies we have developed a range of new measures to ensure your cabin is virus free:
    1. We have invested in a fogging machine from South Korea and every cabin will be fogged on guest departure with a new innovative and sophisticated sanitiser developed in Dundee Scotland. The sanitising product is so environmentally friendly it can be ingested by humans and yet is 30 times faster acting than bleach in killing viruses without using any nasty chemicals. We will fog every surface in the cabin, including inside the cupboards, all the fabrics and even inside the fridge
    2. After fogging our housekeepers will then perform their normal thorough clean, wearing PPE, but with a new virucidal surface cleaner. All our senior housekeepers have now completed a COVID19 Holiday Let Cleaning Course
    3. Linen will all be laundered at a temperature sufficient to kill any virus and mattress and pillow protectors will be changed every changeover
    4. Our guest handbook and activities book that are usually located on the coffee table downstairs will be sterilised and removed to the drawers of the PC desk upstairs. Instead we will send these out electronically prior to your arrival
    5. Washing-up gloves, oven gloves and stove gloves are to be changed every changeover
  4. Maintaining a virus free environment during guest stays. To help guests maintain a virus free environment:
    1. A hand sanitiser will be provided at the front door and in the sitting room of every cabin
    2. An virucidal steriliser spray will be provided in the kitchen at every cabin
    3. A sterilising handwash soap will be provided in the kitchen at every cabin
    4. Prior to re-opening, all books, games, and dvds etc in every cabin will be sterilised. We do not plan to remove these from the cabins but we ask guests if they use any of these items to leave them out on the coffee table or side tables on departure so that we know we need to sterilise them before the next guests arrive
    5. Additional complimentary consumables such as soap and shampoo will be provided to minimise the need for Eagle Brae to deliver more during your stay
  5. Activities to continue but with social distancing measures in place. Most activities will still be able to take place albeit with social distancing. Initially canoeing, pony trekking, bank fishing and mountain biking should be able to happen as per normal albeit with social distancing modifications: clay pigeon shooting only for experienced people, camera stalking only on foot (no ATV), and intro to rifles will not be possible until social distancing rules change. As reception will be closed, activity guides will meet you outside your cabin at the agreed date and time
  6. Our concierge service will operate as normal. If you wish to utilise our online concierge service to order prepared meals, groceries, meats from our own farm, or wines whiskies and gins, this service will run as normal except we will deliver your items only as far as your front door and then let you know they are there ready to collect. Any concierge orders placed prior to arrival will be unpacked for you and left for you inside the cabin. All concierge orders will be prepared by Eagle Brae staff wearing PPE and with a virucidal spray that is absolutely harmless to humans, even if ingested
  7. Please help us on departure day by doing the following:
    1. Please settle your concierge bill for any activities and concierge items the day before you depart before 5pm (over the phone). The Eagle Brae team will email you a copy of your bill beforehand
    2. It is recommended by our trade bodies that we urge all our guests to please strip their own bedding (sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers only) and pack them, together with towels, into the laundry bag provided (in the bottom drawer of the chest of drawers in every bedroom) and leave on the floor in the utility room. This will make our housekeepers’ job much easier and safer
    3. It is recommended by our trade bodies that we urge all our guests to please bag their rubbish and remove it from the cabin to the galvanised bins outside the cabin in the parking area before departure
    4. Please open the windows prior to departure to air the cabin prior to our housekeeper’s arrival
    5. Please leave out any books, dvds, games, guest handbooks etc that you have used during your stay on the coffee tables or side tables. Our housekeepers will then know they have been used and will sterilise them during the changeover
    6. Please ensure you vacate the cabin by 10am. This is our standard checkout time but it is currently more important than ever that we have enough time to safely prepare the cabin for the next guests
  8. What to do if you or anyone in your group experiences any of the key symptoms of COVID19 before or during your stay (persistent cough, temperature, loss of taste or smell)
    1. If anyone in your group experiences any of the key symptoms of COVID19 in the two weeks prior to your stay, please do not travel to stay with us. We will be sensitive to your situation and organise to either get you re-booked or refunded
    2. If anyone in your group experiences any of the key symptoms of COVID19 during your stay, please inform us, and then make plans to travel home at the soonest opportunity to seek medical help and to self-isolate. This is Scottish government advice and guests are expressly prohibited from self-isolating in holiday accommodation in Scotland
