Clay Pigeon Shooting in the Scottish Highlands
As part Eagle Brae’s extensive activity programme, guests can take part in this popular outdoor activity in the Scottish Highlands. Clay pigeon shooting, also known as clay target shooting, involves firing a shot gun at flying targets made from clay. We use a remote-controlled trap, which launches the clay targets into the air. Shooters must perfect their aim in order to hit them, predicting the speed and direction of the target, and thinking about their position and stance.
This is a great outdoor activity for all abilities. Exciting, challenging and lots of fun. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or a shooter looking to hone your technique, our guide will be on hand throughout the session.
The Clay Pigeon Shooting Experience
This activity is great fun for novices, as well as those with more experience. It takes place a mile or so away from Eagle Brae, in a quiet spot. We’ll provide all equipment and ear defenders.
Experienced shooters can enjoy fluctuating elevations and angles on our superb remote-controlled clay trap. If you’re a beginner, your guide will teach you how a shot gun works and you’ll learn to shoot, starting with stationary clays on tree stumps. Then, when you’re ready, you’ll move on to flying clays.
