An Easy Walk Near Your Eagle Brae Cabin
Eagle Brae is close to many Glen Affric walks in the beautiful Scottish Highlands near Loch Ness. As such, we are surrounded by nature’s natural playground… perfect for exploring by foot! And, some of these beautiful walks start at the door of our wilderness cabins. Of these, our Meadow Walk is perhaps the easiest. And it’s great for those with limited mobility, as it is flat and gentle. It takes about an hour to complete this walk at a gentle pace. And that gives you plenty of time to enjoy the scenic circuit!
For part of the year, the walk is also host to our dog sledding activities. Here the dogs love this walk just as much as we do! And if you bring your own dog on your Highland break they are sure to wag their tails and find lots to sniff all around this lovely path.
Lots To See
This walk is just in front of Eagle Brae and is around 3-miles in total. As such, it is a great stroll for people of all ages. Our Hebridean sheep flock like to graze around here. Their black wool is sought after by spinners to make beautiful clothes. And they can have two, four, or even more horns! So for kids, we encourage a great game whilst walking, of count the horns on the sheep! But we do ask that for this walk, dogs are kept on a lead whilst the sheep are out grazing.
The walk also takes visitors alongside the River Glass. This is a beautiful Highland river that runs alongside Eagle Brae, and which eventually feeds into the Beauly Firth. And if you fancy taking the weight off your feet and trying a spot of paddling, canoeing along the River Glass is the perfect way to see more of the beautiful scenery near us. Just get in touch and we can help you organise your activities.
