And here are just a few of the ways you can improve your wellbeing with a water wellness break at Eagle Brae.
Water healing your way
So, what is water wellness all about? Also known as ‘blue mind’, water wellness is linked to the wonderfully positive influence water has on us. And this is not only from the physical wellbeing of getting active outdoors. But from a mental health point of view, water has extremely healing powers. And with a feeling of calm or peacefulness sparked when we are in or near water, we want to take you on a wellness experience with us here at Eagle Brae.
Book a guided canoe trip
Firstly, you must embark on a magical canoe experience along our beautiful Scottish waters. So, pair up with a friend or family member in a two-person canoe and paddle through magical Aigas Gorge. And magical is the only way to describe this beautiful place! Not only is it 100ft tall, but it’s also an absolutely stunning location to watch birds of prey and the beautiful scenery around you. And there’s no need to worry if you have never canoed before, you will be guided through the gorge by specialist instructors to ensure you are safe out on the water.
Ride your bike or take a walk on our many Scottish trails
Yes, there are lots of great walking and cycling routes just waiting to be explored. Whatsmore, all are sure to feature Scotland’s most picturesque scenery and dramatic landscapes! And, if you’re looking to reconnect with some of our dramatic waterscapes, then you must join us for a relaxing and peaceful walk. So come and see some of our more dramatic cascading waterfalls, such as Plodda Falls and Dog Falls! But wherever you walk, or bike, you must take a moment to stop and listen to the soothing sounds. Watch out for wildlife and listen to the water around you. It’s time to immerse yourself in your surroundings.
Go for a spot of wild swimming
And if you want to take your water wellness experience a step further, you must take a dip in one of our Scottish loch’s, or even in our waterfall pools! Not only is this a great way to connect with nature, but we assure you, a dip in our Scottish waters will leave you feeling exhilarated and refreshed. Also, Lochan Fada and Loch Beinn a’ Mheadhain are perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing and refreshing wild swim… once you’ve become accustomed to the chill of the water, that is)!
But, before you step into the water, Scottish Swimming has some safety tips and guidance for all swimmers to be aware of, regardless of whether you’re a beginner or experienced. So please do take time to read these and read up further on your chosen spot prior to swimming.
Fishing holidays near Loch Ness
Finally, no trip to Scotland is complete without a fishing experience on Loch Ness and on its neighboring rivers. At over 20 miles long and 1 mile wide, Loch Ness is 700 feet at its deepest point. As such it offers a super day of fishing for anglers of all levels. And here at Eagle Brae, we are close by to many of the best Inverness-shire fishing rivers and lochs. So, join us where you can enjoy fishing for Salmon, Trout, and Pike on our luxury fishing holidays. Whatsmore, our rivers host some of the most productive summer and autumn runs of salmon in the North of Scotland. And we offer fishing equipment for hire or you can bring your own.
