Celebrating 10 years of Eagle Brae
We recently celebrated a big birthday here at Eagle Brae. It’s been an incredible 10 years since we first opened our unique log cabin village. In August 2013, after eight years in the making, our first seven log cabins opened to guests. We now have ten cabins in total and exciting plans for the future.
Our luxury, sustainable resort has grown from strength to strength and we have received fantastic guest reviews (including 100% 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor!) We’ve also received several awards and accolades (twice winning prestigious HITA and Thistle tourism awards).
10th birthday party
We are so proud of everything that Eagle Brae has achieved in our first decade, and we’re grateful to all those who have worked with us to get here. So, on our 10th birthday, we threw a party for everyone who has helped make Eagle Brae happen. From contractors and suppliers to staff past and present. It was a wonderful chance to get together and celebrate.
A piper greeted guests, then we gathered on the mound to see an amazing flypast from the same Hawker Hurricane fighter plane that flew over at our opening. We enjoyed cake and drinks in the stretch tent, and a delicious curry buffet, cooked by Eagle Brae owners, Mike and Pawana. Himalayan Venison curry, Jaisene’s Chicken curry, Palampuri Palak Paneer, Nussa Mossar Dhal and Nagar Fort Rajma were all on the menu and everyone ate off plates made of stitched Sal tree leaves from India. There was live music from The Federals and ceilidh band Last Tram Tae Auchenshuggle. A fire pit kept us warm until the wee small hours. In fact, the last ones to bed left at 6 am!
Here’s to the next 10 years!
Thanks to everyone who has been a part of Eagle Brae over the last decade; Our dedicated staff members, skilled craftspeople, contractors and suppliers, and of course, our wonderful guests, who have supported us every step of the way.
As we look to the future, we have some exciting plans in the pipeline! Our much-loved Aquila cabin is currently being rebuilt after fire damage. The logs have just been set and the smell of cedar is in the air. Plus, we have three fantastic new sites at the south end of Eagle Brae, on which we hope to deliver more cabins in the next few years. The sites are already formed and ready to go.
We hope you’ll follow our journey with us. Keep up to date with our latest news here on the blog and on our Facebook and Instagram.
