Celebrating our 4th Anniversary
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – Eagle Brae is a dream in the making. It’s the culmination of years of hard work and determination from Mike, Pawana and the entire Eagle Brae team. Because let’s face it, when we decided to build Himalayan-inspired log cabins in the Scottish Highlands, people thought we were crazy. But today, Eagle Brae is equal parts Himalayan charm, Highland beauty and weird and wonderful quirks our guests have come to know and love. And since 24th August marks 4 years since we welcomed the first guests through our doors, we thought we’d share some of our favourite highlights over the years.
We got social
As a brand new business with a unique offering, we thought social media would be a funky place to share some pics and spread the word about our unusual Highland log cabins. Little did we know that 4 short years later we would have almost 12,000 Facebook fans, 500 Twitter followers and 1,000 Instagram fans! Today, our social community is part of the Eagle Brae family. They share in our triumphs, bear witness to the beautiful glens we call home and allow us to be part of the wonderful memories they make at Eagle Brae.
We got mobile
In keeping with our Indian heritage, we decided the perfect way to get around would be to invest in an authentic tuktuk. So that is exactly what we did. Thanks to Tuk Tuk UK, we welcomed a brand new member to the Eagle Brae fleet! Since then, deliveries in the tuktuk are by far the team’s favourite way of getting around. Not to mention it looks pretty cool zipping between all our Highland log cabins.
We got closer to nature
It’s no secret that sustainability and eco-tourism are a big part of Eagle Brae. Mike has taken up beekeeping, and he and Pawana are no strangers to fungi foraging in and around Eagle Brae. There’s also talk of Heather honey being produced this August! So you can imagine how delighted we were to be voted among the world’s best eco-friendly hotels by holiday extraordinaire, Secret Escapes.
We made a film
What’s a rugged-lux log cabin village in the heart of the Scottish Highlands to do? We made a film of course, thanks to some incredible drone footage of our little slice of Highland life.
We started Phase 2
After reaching another milestone (nothing but 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence), we knew it was time to start the next chapter in the Eagle Brae story. So once again we enlisted the help of Pioneer Log Homes of BC and got started on our next 3 Highland log cabins.
So there you have it. In 4 short years our Eagle Brae family has grown. We’ve welcomed old and new guests to our Highland log cabins. Our critters are cuter than ever. We’ve expanded, learnt new things, marvelled at how our team has grown and been amazed by our guests’ continued support. So thank you for being part of the Eagle Brae story. We can’t wait to see what the next 4 years have in store.
