As the claws of winter begin to take hold, a whole new world of winter activities takes flight. For bird lovers, bird watching in winter is a must. There are always a variety of unique northern birds to see, and the bare and barren trees make them so much easier to spot. No trespass laws mean that exploring the highland wilderness has never been easier, and a number of amazing trails are just waiting to be blazed around Eagle Brae and the nearby Glen Affric nature reserve. We also have our own purpose-built sled track around a beautiful meadow for a unique, once-in-a-lifetime dog sledding adventure in the Highlands.

As the sun begins to set and the temperature starts to drop, it’s time to settle in for the night. Inside our beautiful log cabins is no less spectacular than the winter wonderland that rages without. A warm wood burning fire welcomes you home, while a hearty venison curry warms you up from within. And on a clear winter night, you may be lucky enough to see a dazzling display of the aurora borealis. As morning breaks and another glorious winter day awaits, the sounds of ducks in the ponds or deer foraging nearby is only broken by a visit from Kyla coming to say hello.
